Computational Cancer Genomics

Siyuan Zheng 郑思远

PI & Associate Professor (tenured)
Greehey Children's Cancer Research Institute · UT Health San Antonio

CPRIT Scholar in Cancer Research

I look for patterns in the cancer genome, across childhood and adult cancers, cancer models, and the wide landscape of public data.

01

Research

I am a computational biologist. My work is finding recurrent structure and signal in tumor genomes, and turning large public datasets into new biology.

Focus / 01

Patterns in the cancer genome

Finding recurrent structure and signal that distinguish tumor genomes, and asking what those patterns mean.

Focus / 02

Across cancers and models

Working on childhood cancers, adult cancers, and experimental cancer models side by side.

Focus / 03

Mining public data

Enthusiastic about mining large public datasets to reach questions no single study can answer.

Focus / 04

Aging & new methods

Also drawn to aging biology and to developing new computational methods for genomics.
